Shirley Ann Tevebaugh, 68, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at her residence in Tye, Texas.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 19, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Father Robert Bush officiating. Interment will follow in Tye Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with a prayer service to follow at 7 p.m.
She was born in Welch, Louisiana, on October 14, 1940, and married Dennis Glenn Tevebaugh on December 14, 1958. Since 1970, Mrs. Tevebaugh had been a resident of the Abilene area and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Abilene. She worked for 20 years for McMurry University in the cafeteria as a baker.
Mrs. Tevebaugh was preceded in death by her husband on May 25, 2006; son, John Lowell Tevebaugh, on October 9, 2007; and her father, John Vidrine.
Survivors include her sons, Troy Tevebaugh of Abilene and Owen Tevebaugh of Tye; daughter, Joni Baker and husband, Charles, of Auburndale, Florida; mother, Thelma Rose Kloss of La Junta, Colorado; sisters, Barbara Jean Bravo and husband, Ben, and Katherine Lay and husband, Joe, all of La Junta, Colorado; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
