Sheryl Koltermann

Sheryl Koltermann, 73, of Abilene, TX passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Abilene.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, with the Funeral service to follow at 12:30 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.  The burial will follow at 2:00 pm at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Rd.

Sheryl was born in Rochester, NY, to Donald and Marion Vonhof, on February 26, 1950.  Sheryl graduated from Penfield High School before attending Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA, and graduating with her bachelor’s in accounting.  She later moved to San Antonio, TX, where she met the love of her life, Albert “Al” Koltermann.  They were married on February 20, 1970, in San Antonio.  Al’s military career afforded him and Sheryl the chance to travel the world. Sheryl would go on to work for Meals on Wheels as the accounting supervisor, retiring after 26 wonderful years.  She was a member of The Eastern Star for over 50 years and would go on to become a matron for the organization.  Sheryl was also an active member of the Emmaus community.  Most importantly Sheryl loved the Lord, her family, and her country.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Marion Vonhof.

Sheryl is survived by her husband of 53 years, Al Koltermann, her chosen daughter Tracy Whalen, and her beloved cat Sophie.
