Sherry Charlene Breidenbach, 74 of Abilene, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 in Plano, Texas.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00pm Thursday, March 21, 2024 at The Hamil Family Home located at 6449 Buffalo Gap Road., Abilene, Texas.
Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, March 22, 2024 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with Terence Waldron of Pioneer Drive Baptist church, officiating.. Burial will follow at 1:00pm Friday, March 22, 2024 at Texas State Veterans Cemetery located at 7457 W. Lake Rd., Abilene, Texas. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Sherry was born in Beaver, Oklahoma to Gene and Norma Rosamond (Fuller) Davis on April 7, 1949. She graduated from Cooper High School in 1967 and from Texas Women’s College with a degree in economics. She worked at Dyess AFB Library for 14 years and that was where she met and later married, David Alan Breidenbach on August 7, 1982 on Dyess AFB.
Sherry was involved in several organizations as volunteer including at Dyess AFB Hospital. She worked the information desk to direct people and calls to correct offices. She received an award for completing 350 hours of service. Sherry served in Civil Service for almost 18 years. She was a library assistant at both Dyess AFB and RAF Bentwaters, U.K., then worked in base supply, research section. She also served Volunteers In Public Schools (VIPS) as chairman 2000-2001. Sherry and David are longtime members of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
Sherry is preceded in death by her parents and by Janie Carradine, who the family considers just like a sister.
Sherry is survived by her husband, David Alan Breidenbach of Abilene; daughters, Glenda “GiGi” Angeloff and husband, Mike of Ft. Worth, Charity Anne Breidenbach and husband, Jonathon ”Griff” Griffin of Groesbeck, Texas; sons, Davis A. H. Breidenbach and wife, Misty of Ft. Worth and James Victor Breidenbach II of Wichita Falls, Texas.
Sisters are Maxine Davis of Grapevine, Texas, Marcy Gardner and husband, Richard of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Trudy Davis of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Justin Irby, Joseph Taylor, and members of Guardians of the Children - Abilene chapter.
