Sherilyn Skaggs

Sherilyn Sue Skaggs 78 years old of Abilene passed away on March 2nd, 2025, at her home.

There will not be any services at this time.

Sherilyn was born in Matador Texas on December 2nd, 1946, to McElton and Geraldine Skaggs. She attended Abilene High School and graduated from nursing school in 1980. She was very well-traveled and loved Native American culture and heritage.

She was married to her children's father, Paul Zuyus for over 20 years.

Sherilyn is preceded in death by her parents, and her oldest son Brooks of Abilene.

Sherilyn is survived by her brothers Connie Mac & Brett Skaggs & their families, her youngest son Jeffrey of Abilene and her only daughter Kristen Zuyus of Macon Missouri.

She was the proud grandmother of her grandchildren Elton, Amanda, Jaye, Lee, Anderson, Jessie, Ciara and Cambrie. She was known as Aunt Sherilyn to Jason, Summer, Brennon, Nathan and Hailey, and she also had 8 great grandchildren.

She was a very talented and gifted artist and piano player. She was a collector of fine arts and especially enjoyed collecting elephants.

All these are to say the least, there are lots of things & stories to tell about Sherilyn- Mom, Manaw, Mee-maw - she was a very special and unique woman who will always be remembered.
