Sharon Kay Moreno

d. June 14, 2018

Sharon Moreno, 67, of Abilene died on June 14, 2018.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, June 18 at Albany Cemetery with Rev. Jim Ritter officiating.  Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Sharon Kay Ledbetter was born on August 15, 1950 to WT and Flora Mae Ledbetter in rural Taylor County. She graduated from Merkel High School and went to nursing school. She worked as a nurse for many years and often spoke fondly of the patients she had the opportunity to care for. Sharon loved children and animals.  She cherished her childhood memories with her special cousins, friends and siblings.

While everyone has their challenges, Sharon maintained a positive attitude and tried to be a friend to all during her life. She is recounted as generous, kind, and patient by the folks lucky enough to have known her.

Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved parents WT and Flora Mae Ledbetter, her brothers William, Ed (Tooter), and Charles (Red) Ledbetter, her sister in law Paula and several special aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law Donna and Matthew Aycock and grandsons Harrison and August. She is also survived by her cousins and her two special dogs Pickles and Buddy.

If you would like to honor Sharon’s life, the family suggests that you make a donation to a charity assisting animals, children, or families.  While flowers are beautiful, they fade quickly.  A charitable gift can be a force for good in the world.

The family wishes to thank the Hendrick Inpatient Hospice unit, especially Dr. Templeton, Becky, Donna, Cheryl, Mary, and Alaina for their kind and excellent care of our sweet Mom and Grandma.
