Shannon Jo Taylor
My beloved daughter Shannon, 43, passed from my arms to God’s on Sunday, October 27, 2013 after a long battle with Huntington’s Chorea.
Shannon was born August 29, 1970 to Barbara Boyce and W. H. Taylor, Jr. Shannon lived in Abilene, Albany and San Angelo. She graduated from Central High School in San Angelo.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Shannon is survived by her mother Barbara Matthews of Abilene, uncle Mikael Hill and wife Yvette, uncle James Hill and wife Marsha, and uncle Kevin Hill all of Abilene. Survivors also include her grandfather Charles McCarrell of Abilene, aunt Linda Boyce of Colorado and aunt Pansy Collum of Coleman, uncle Tommy Taylor and wife Victoria of New Mexico, and many cousins, as well as the members of the Matthews family, who helped make it possible for me to take care of Shannon at home.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Bobby McCarrell, grandfather, W. H. Taylor, Sr., uncle Greg Collum and uncle David Boyce.
Shannon touched many lives, both before and after becoming homebound, with her gentle, loving and giving nature. She was our treasure and will be deeply missed by all who knew her and her fighting spirit and humor.
Be happy and healthy my love in the care of the only other one that loves you as much as I have and always will.
Shannon will be cremated with a family memorial at a later date. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
Memorials may be made to Food Bank of West Central Texas, 5505 North 1st St., Abilene, TX 79603.
