Sarah Ann Hamilton

Sarah Ann Hamilton, 80, of Potosi, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017. Visitation will be at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene, from 2-4 PM on Sunday, October 1. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 2, at 10 AM at Potosi Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Clifton officiating and assisted by Rev. Jeff Hatcher. Burial will follow at the Potosi Cemetery. Sarah Ann Hamilton was born in Abilene, Texas on July 19, 1937 to Clarence and Maxine (Blackburn) Hollingshead. She graduated from Wylie High School and later married Fred Hamilton on June 8, 1956. She was a member of the Potosi Baptist Church and was a longtime co-owner of Hamilton Supply in Abilene. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, husband Fred Hamilton, and brother Dale Hollingshead. Ann is survived by son David Hamilton and wife Carman of Abilene, daughter Jayme Hamilton Schmalzried and husband Ernie of Plano, Texas, sister Melba Tramel and husband Gerald of Kerens, Texas, sister-in-law Carolyn Hollingshead of Potosi, and 5 grandchildren Dustin Schmalzried and wife April, Jaden Schmalzried and wife Kellie, Michael Schmalzried, Andrew Hamilton and Austin Hamilton, 3 great-grandchildren Grayson, Lake, and Collin Schmalzried. All 5 grandsons and great-grandson Grayson will serve as pallbearers. The Hamilton and Schmalzried families wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Wisteria Place and Hendrick Hospice.
