Sara M. Wilson

Sara M. Wilson, 87, died Friday, March 18, 2011, at her residence. Born in Olney, Texas on November 15, 1923, she was the daughter of Mattie (McWhorter) and John Ledbetter. She married George Robert Wilson on August 8, 1942 in Hamilton, Ohio. Sara was a homemaker. In 1979, she moved from Hamilton, Ohio to the Abilene, Texas area. Her husband, parents, two brothers and three sisters preceded Sara in death. Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Patricia "Pat" Lapoint of Buffalo Gap, Texas; grandson, Dr. Cary R. Lapoint and wife Jeni; and three great-grandchildren, Quinn Lapoint, Sophie Lapoint and Chloe Lapoint. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 20th, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Graveside services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sears Methodist Hospice, 1 Village Drive, Abilene, TX 79606.
