Sara Buxkemper, 73, of Abilene, passed away Monday, December 26, 2022, in Abilene.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 14, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Sara was born in Center, TX on November 23, 1949. She graduated from Center High School. Sara worked as a waitress at Monterrey House in Houston throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the Smokehouse in Slaton in the 1980s, and later at the Pancake House in Lubbock in the 1990s, among many others. She viewed her job as a career in service. In her spare time, Sara enjoyed making crafts, especially wreaths, cooking, and shopping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lovis Edgar and Jewel Fancher; husband, Donald Buxkemper, Sr; sister, Bobbie Banks; and brothers, Kenneth Fancher, Jerry Fancher, and James Fancher.
Sara is survived by her husband, Larry Henderson of Lawn; son, Jerry Buxkemper and wife Sherra of Lubbock; son, Michael Buxkemper of New Braunfels; son, D.J. Buxkemper of San Antonio; brother, Jimmy Fancher; grandchildren, Macie Simpson, Colton, Jace, and Kyle Buxkemper, and Taylee Buxkemper; great grandchildren Brynlea and Kannon Simpson, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
