Sandra Burks Spear

Sandra Burks Spear, 67, was received into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at an Abilene medical center. Sandra was born in Pampa, Texas on May 12, 1943 to O.A. "Buster" Burks and Jerry Griffin Burks. She had lived in Abilene since 1950. Sandra was a member of the Abilene High School Class of 1961. She was a bookkeeper for Condley & Company in Abilene from 1977-2005, and was a member of Broadview Baptist Church. Sandra was a master seamstress, loved to travel, and enjoyed making scrapbooks of her grandchildren and the places she had visited. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sandra is survived by her daughter, Shari Jones and husband Alan of Abilene; her son, Keith Woolf and wife Cindy of Little Elm; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Woolf, Griffin Jones, and Jennifer Woolf; her sister, Kay Thacker and husband Rusty of Arlington; two aunts, Marjorie Blackwell of Sweetwater and Murlene Shagula of Abilene; two nieces; and several cousins. The family wishes to thank Dr. Ralph Heaven and his staff, and the ladies at Hendrick Infusion Services for their especially fine care for our mother and grandmother. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Roby Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene, officiated by Rev. David Cason.
