Ruth Weaver went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Tuesday morning, April 1, 2008. She was born in Ida Bell, Oklahoma, October 8, 1913. At the age of 94 she leaves behind the cares of this life and enters into her heavenly rest. There remaineth a place of rest for the children of God. Hebrews 4:9
Mrs. Weaver, mother to some, grandmother to her grandchildren, and "Grandma Weaver" to many. She was loved by all who knew her, and she loved all she met. Her love, her concern, and her prayers were coveted by many.
Born and raised in Ida Bell, Oklahoma, she was the last surviving of a family of 11 children. She was the daughter of George and Martha (Griffin) Spruell. In 1936, she married Homer Washington Weaver and lived in Gilliland, Texas. They later moved to Munday, Texas where they lived their married life with two children, Virgil and Shirley. Virgil preceded her in death, as well as her husband, Homer, and her parents. Her love was her Lord Jesus, her family, her friends, and her church. Ruth was a member of Trinity Family Worship Center.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley and her husband Waylan Jackson, of Tuscola; three grandsons and their families: Keith Jackson and his wife Teresa, and their children, Marissa, Michael, and Briana, of Abilene; Kevin Jackson, and his children, Mikayla, and Caleb Jackson, of Tuscola; Kyle Jackson and his wife Alicia, and their children, Eliora and Elianne Jackson, of Tuscola. She is also survived by Joel, Holly, and Kaitlyn, who held a special place in her heart, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She lived by the word of God, which says, Fear God, and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. Ecclesiastes 12:13
Funeral services, with Gary Word officiating, will be at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 3, 2008 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Burial will follow in the Iberis Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
