Ruth Chase Newton Clark

Ruth Chase Newton Clark, 85, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2016. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Tye Cemetery. Rev. Corey Graham will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, April 11 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Ruth was born in Tye, Texas on July 23, 1930 to David and Lula (Strutton) Chase. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1947. Ruth married Bill C. Newton on November 7, 1947 in Tye, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 5, 1993. She married John H. Clark, Jr. on January 13, 2001 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 8, 2012. Ruth was a member of First United Methodist Church in Merkel. Ruth is survived by her son, Mike Newton and wife Trina of Tye; two daughters, Darlene Thompson and husband Don of Canton, and Paula Moschetto of Abilene; one brother, William Chase and wife Carol of Roseland, New Jersey; one sister, Dolores Leeson and husband Kirby of Abilene; seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made in Ruth Clark’s honor to Kinder Hearts Hospice, 842 North Mockingbird Lane, Abilene, Texas 79603. Ruth's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
