Ruth Howle

Ruth Lee Howle, 97, passed away Sunday, June 25, at Hendrick Medical Center. Graveside services are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Midway Cemetery with Dr. Billy Spencer officiating. The family will accept friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Mrs. Howle was born January 23, 1909 in the Hodges, Jones County Community to James A. and Leila Newberry Lee. She married Joseph Paul Howle on December 25, 1927 in Jones, County. She was a Baptist and a native of the area her entire life. Mrs. Howle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph Paul Howle in 1989, three brothers and one sister. Survivors include her son John Paul Howle and wife, Ann of Hodges, two daughters, Martha Nell Busby and husband, John of Abilene, and Helen Ruth Woodfin and husband Charles of Lubbock, Texas, four grandchildren, Linda Heatherington, Paula Ruth Hall, Elizabeth Davis, and Melinda Futrell, six great grandchildren, one great -great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent to Hendricks Hospice Care, P.O. Box 1922, Abilene, Texas 79604. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Peggy Nunnally, Doris Stevens, and Judy Williams for their loving care.
