Ruth Jaunell "Mary" Faircloth, 83, died Thursday, November 18, 2010, at an Abilene medical center.
The daughter of Bertie (Bean) and William Homer Carlisle, Mary was born on January 18, 1927 in Mills County, Texas. She married Edward Clayton Faircloth on October 28, 1950 in Phoenix, Arizona. She had a 30-year nursing career as a LVN, having worked in San Angelo, Irving, and Abilene. She then worked for Lone Star Gas in Irving for several years. Mary was a homemaker after retirement, and a member of Bluff Creek Cowboy Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Faircloth, on July 20, 2006; parents; and sister, Ruby Grace Singleton.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Sandra Riley and husband Bill of Red Oak, Texas, and Dee "Ellen" Anderson of Potosi; stepson, Bill Faircloth and his family; brother, Scotty Carlisle and wife Sylvia of Keller, Texas; four grandchildren and spouses, Benny and Kim, Sheryl and Michael, Darrin and Amy, and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Vera Sumners and her family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 22, in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, officiated by Rev. Marcy Grun. Burial will follow in McBee Cemetery in south Taylor County. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Carlisle, Jr., Brent Moseley, Reagan Moseley, Kenneth Barber, Ronnie Sumners and Jerry Sumners.
The family expresses their thanks to the nurses and doctors of the ICU Unit at Abilene Regional Medical Center.
