Russell Patrick LaGuardia

Russell Patrick LaGuardia, 64, of Abilene, died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at a local hospital. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A Prayer Service will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Russell was born November 11, 1944 in Bronx, New York to Salvatore LaGuardia and Frances (Craig) LaGuardia. He married Teresita Gontang on December 30, 1964 in San Diego, California. She preceded him in death January 24, 2006. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. In 1991 Russell moved to Abilene from England. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his father and his wife. Russell is survived by his mother, Frances LaGuardia, of New York; one son Paul LaGuardia and his wife Marissa, of Abilene; three daughters, Linda Bolduc and Yan, of Nebraska; Frances Chapman and her husband Kris, of Abilene, and Bonny Webb, of Abilene; one brother, Gregory LaGuardia, of New York; two sisters, Carol Blake LaGuardia and Deloris LaGuardia, both of New York; nine grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
