Ruby Faye Pritchard, 79, went to be with Jesus peacefully in her sleep at her home on Monday, January 30, 2012.
Born in Haskell, Texas on July 2, 1932, she was the daughter of Louise (Pfaff) and Travis Rousseau. She married Edwin C Pritchard on February 14, 1953. In 1953, she moved from Haskell to Abilene, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She worked many years for L & L Inc. prior to her retirement. She was a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church.
Ruby Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C Pritchard on March 12, 1991; daughter, Sandra Eileen Galvan; son, Eddie Carlton Pritchard; parents; and three brothers, Bill Rousseau, Boyd Rousseau and Jack Rousseau.
Survivors include her son, Tony Pritchard and wife Barb of Allen, Texas; daughter, Diane Walker and husband Ricky of Ovalo; seven grandchildren, Jeff Galvan (Kristen), Jerry Galvan (Meredith), Jamie Thomas (Casey), Blake Walker, Jacque Valadez (Drew), Mike Hayes and Rachel Hayes; and five great-grandchildren, Jayton Thomas, Elijah Galvan, Jordan Thomas, Jocelyn Valadez, and Baby Boy Galvan "on the way". Ruby Faye is also survived by one brother, Paul Rousseau of Abilene; three sisters, Mary Henderson of Terrell, and Evelyn Henderson and Imogene Freshour both of Haskell; three sisters-in-law, Helen Stephens, JoAnn Pritchard and Cherry Crowley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, at Crescent Heights Baptist Church in Abilene with Rev. Rudy Fambrough officiating, assisted by Rev. Janice Six. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Tuxedo, Jones County, Texas, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
