Ruby Belle Marshall, 99, died Friday, November 20, 2009, at an Abilene medical center.
The daughter of Lucetti (Archibald) and Albert Richardson, Ruby was born on September 9, 1910 in Oletha, Texas in Limestone County. She was a homemaker, and for several years worked at L - B Drug Store in Kermit, Texas, while her husband was serving in the military during World War II. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church and Order of the Eastern Star - Queen Esther Chapter #833 in Abilene for over fifty years.
Her husband, Legion Treman "L.T." Marshall, preceded Mrs. Marshall in death on December 25, 1984. She was also predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Myrtle Roark, Clarcia Bray and Inez Cavender; and an infant brother.
Mrs. Marshall is survived by her son, David Marshall and wife, Mary, of Abilene; five grandchildren, Sandra Estrumse, Kimberly Barr, Tony Marshall, Tiffany Hackworth and Valeri Littrell; and seven great-grandchildren, Casey Marshall, Faith Estrumse, Alexis Barr, Devin Marshall, Jesse Hackworth, Jaden Hackworth and Justice Villalobos. Survivors also include numerous nephews and nieces.
The family expressed special thanks to Dr. Barry Moak; Solaris Hospice and Hendrick Hospice Care; and special caregivers, her niece, Shelia Hankins who had been her caregiver the last two months, and Gloria Foreman who had been her caregiver the last two years.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, in The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Rev. Mike McGinn officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Snyder Cemetery in Snyder, Texas. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Order of the Eastern Star, a Hospice, or the donor's favorite charity.
