Ruby Fae Langston, 95, of Abilene, Texas passed away on September 26, 2018. A graveside service will be on Saturday, September 29th at 10:30 a.m. at Elmwood Memorial Park in Abilene, with Bill Alexander officiating. The service is under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Viewing will be available all day on Friday, September 28th at the funeral home.
Ruby was born in Mart, Texas on March 29, 1923 to Ben and Sarah McCaslin. She graduated from Mart High School and attended Tyler Commercial College. Ruby married Leroy Langston, Sr. on December 2, 1944 in Bryan, Texas, where he was stationed in the Army Air Corps. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Abilene for 74 years. Ruby loved to travel, cook, and was an avid bridge player. She played in numerous bridge clubs in Abilene, one continuously for over 55 years.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy in 1978, brother, Norman McCaslin, and granddaughter, Mindy Leigh Langston.
Ruby is survived by children, Leroy Langston, Jr. and wife, Jan of Lewisville, Texas; Linda Knight and husband, Terry of Rowlett, Texas; Randy Langston and wife, Brenda of Abilene. She has six grandchildren: Leslie Callaway and husband, Pat of Lewisville; Jennifer Glover and husband, Ralph of Rowlett; Kristen Barnhart and husband, Brian of Houston; Lindsay Hardaway and husband, Jay of Abilene; Megan Kohler and husband, Bennett of Dallas; Jordan Grun and husband, Preston of Abilene. She also has fifteen great grandchildren: Morgan, Luke, and Hai Li Callaway; Kaitlyn and Zachary Amacher (Glover), Presleigh and Beckham Barnhart; Lucy, Claire, Nellie Cate and Henry Hardaway; Hazel and Atticus Grun; Maggie and Landon Kohler.
