Ronnie Ray Knight, 64, passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010, at his home in Abilene, Texas.
Ronnie was born on July 21, 1946, in Tyler, Texas to Thomas Ray Knight and Marjorie Faye Baker.
Following graduation from Brownfield High School in 1965, Ronnie enlisted in the Navy. Shortly afterward he joined the war efforts in Vietnam, where he would serve several tours of duty. His time in service allowed him to travel around the world and would eventually bring him to Singapore, where he met and married his wife, Elsa, on December 17, 1976. After 23 years of service, Ronnie retired from the Navy and moved to Abilene to raise his family.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Elsa Knight, of Abilene, son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Laetitia Knight, of Lewisville, and daughter Marjorie Knight, of Abilene.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road.
Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
