Ronald Francis Huyck, 48, died Saturday, July 29, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1 at Faith Baptist Church, 2300 South 20th Street. Rev. Steven Parker and Rev. Larry Hooper will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Ron was born on March 12, 1958 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Rev. James A. Huyck Sr. and Joyce Ann (Jackson) Huyck. He grew up in Colorado Springs and has lived in Abilene for the past 26 years. Ron married Terri McEwen 25 years ago. He was a member of a local motorcycle club, "Rebel Riders". Ron drove a truck for 25 years. He loved deer hunting and tried to be the best at everything he did. Ron was a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, James Dean Huyck.
He is survived by both of his parents, his wife, Terri Huyck of Abilene, two daughters, Sarah Jo and Carrie Anne, both of Abilene, four brothers, George A. Huyck of Arlington, Scott A. Huyck of Cedar Hill, Danny T. Huyck of Mansfield and James Allen Huyck, Jr. of Abilene. He also leaves behind one granddaughter, Annabella Huyck.
