Ronald Wayne Cox, 72, of Tuscola, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at his home from an unexpected death.
A memorial to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, Texas.
Ron was born in Abilene, Texas to Howard and Yvonna Cox on June 5, 1943. He was raised in Anson, Texas and graduated from Anson High School in 1961. He attended Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. He graduated from Southwest State in Uvalde, Texas. Ron was owner and operator of Cox Consultants for most of his life allowing him to travel the world. He loved the rodeo and riding bulls in his younger years and spent a lot of his life involved in and following the rodeo.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Yvonna Cox, and brother, Bennie Cox.
Ron is survived by two daughters: Andra Cox Smith of Frisco, Texas and Stephanie Cox of Cypress, Texas; two brothers and one sister: Jack Cox and wife Delona of Roby, Texas, Peggy Kendrick and husband Doug of Howell, Michigan and Travis Cox of Hawley, Texas; three grandchildren, Garrett Smith of Corinth, Texas, and Cayden Reed and Kennedy Reed of Cypress, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
