Ronald Glen Bruce was born on November 7, 1961 in Cumberland County, North Carolina. He was called home to Heaven on Sunday, July 7, 2019 in Abilene, TX.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at the Abilene State Supported Living Center Cemetery, with Chaplain Billy Stewart officiating. Ronald will be available to view in state at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd., on Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
As a very young child he moved to Knox County, Texas, where he lived with his grandparents, his “Granny” taking care of him as long as long as she could. Ronald later lived in Abilene at the Abilene State Supported Living Center for many years.
He moved from the AbSSLC to live a happy 10 years in his community home provided by Draco Services.
Ronald enjoyed his life, going places, seeing and being with people and the privacy of his own home. He liked to watch TV, especially cartoons with SpongeBob Square Pants, sitting outside in the sun, clapping his hands and smiling. Ronald had a very big and engaging smile, the kind where you could see his sweet soul shining through. He was a joy to know, easy to love and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of him in their life.
Ronald is survived by his twin brother, Donald and a cousin, Cheryl Berryhill. Additionally, by his housemates, friends, Draco Services staff and administration in Abilene.
