Rogenna Grace Hanson, 87, of Abilene, passed away on February 9, 2025 of natural causes in Abilene Texas. 

Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2025, at Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene with Associate Pastor, Jeff Reid of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Rogenna Grace Hanson was born in Borger, Texas to Roger Berkley Yungblut and Maude Estelle Warren on May 24, 1937. She went to school at Plemons School. She graduated from Phillips High School and North Texas State College. She married Wolfram Dreyer Wislicenus on March 29, 1961 in Borger Texas. She was a proud Airforce wife and taught second and third grade in Lubbock, Texas. She remarried to “Cudge” Fleissner in 1976 after the tragic death of her beloved husband Wolf and helped him run his real estate company. Cudge tragically died in 1982 and she remarried to “Swede” Hanson in 1989. She and Swede divorced in 2010 when she returned home to Texas. A kind and friendly spirit, she lived a full life surrounded by family and friends.

She was always involved in her church from the First United Methodist Church in Santa Rosa, California where she helped found FISH, to the Anglican Church in Chico, and the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in Abilene. She was also a proud volunteer. In Abilene, she volunteered for the Christian Women’s Job Corp, House of Faith, Meals on Wheels, and various projects with her Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Wolfram Wislicenus, Cuthbert Fleissner, and Edger “Swede” Hanson, her son Mark Dreyer Wislicenus, her brother Gary Cline Yungblut, her granddaughter Ashley Ann McCauley, and her great, great niece Bailey Brooke Flanagan.

She is survived by her daughters Christie Lynn and Sandra Elizabeth Wislicenus; her nephew and nieces Gary Scott Yungblut and his wife Pamela Carole, Cherisse Yungblut Flanagan and her husband Daniel Martin, Traci Lynn Yungblut Kidwell and her husband Casey Blane; her grandchildren Chelsea Leigh and Jesse Lee Kirkland, Parker Cline Simpson Wislicenus, Emily Grace Nordick and her husband Casey Lee , and Jonah Dreyer Wislicenus; and her great grandchildren Mayce J. Lynn Kirkland, Rylee Dawn Kirkland, Kohen Charles Kirkland, Daniel Merle Kirkland, Gracelyn Mae Kirkland, Jameson Matthew Kirkland, Ashton Lee Kirkland, and Timothy Daniel Nordick. Also included are great and great, great, nieces and nephews Brian Lee and Hillary Allyssa Lavender and their children Rylee June and Brooks Lawson, Cooper Scott and Candace Elizabeth Yungblut and their son Henry Scott, Bret Randall and Hannah Grace Bondoc and their children March Elle and Roman Atreus, Kyla Faith Flanagan, Enson Andres and Alexa Mary Flores, and Luke Zachary Kidwell.

Memorials may be given to Lydia Class Bible Project, Pioneer Drive Baptist Church, 701 S Pioneer Drive, Abilene, TX 79605 or Plemons Ex-Student Association, c/o Joe Reed, treasurer, 108 Elm St., Borger TX 79007.
