Roberta Mae Havins

Roberta Mae "Bert" Havins Roberta Mae "Bert" Havins, 86, of Waco, Texas and formerly of Abilene, died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Waco. Born in Moran, Texas on September 2, 1926, Roberta was the daughter of Eula Mae and Everett J. Faught. She was a 1944 graduate of Moran High School. She married Robert Loyd "Bob" Havins on November 6, 1949 in Abilene. She worked as a teacher's aide with the Abilene ISD. She was a member of 5th and Grape Street Church of Christ in Abilene and Hewitt Church of Christ in Hewitt. Mrs. Havins was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Havins, on June 8, 2000; her parents; brother, Wilburn Faught; and sister, Evelyn Bowles. Roberta is survived by her daughter, Kathy Smith and husband Danny of Lorena, TX; son, Ken Havins and wife Valerie of Burleson, TX; sister, LaDell Jumper and husband Gene of Midland, TX; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 8, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene with Dr. Jerry Christian of San Antonio officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
