Robert J. White Sr.

Robert J White Sr of Abilene passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 in Abilene.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00am, Thursday April 4, 2024 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home with Pastor Kieschnick of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at 1:00 pm at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery.  Services are under the direction of the Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 3 between 5-7 pm.

Robert was born in Medina Ohio to Gifford and Elizabeth White on August 20, 1943.  He went to  school in Medina Ohio, and in 1991 got his Bachelor degree at McMurry University in Abilene. He married Judith White on June 12, 1976 in San Antonio Texas.   He worked in the Automobile business at O.R. Mitchell Dodge in San Antonio where he met his wife of 48 years, in September 1980 he moved to Abilene to work with brother Gifford A White Jr. at White Chrysler  which later sold to Arrow Ford of Abilene.  He was Veteran of Vietnam and served in the Army.

Robert  was preceded  in death by his parents Gifford A White Sr. and Elizabeth White, brother Gifford A White Jr., sisters Janice Melendez and Judith Marie White.

Robert is survived by his spouse, Judith G. White, children  Robert J White Jr. and wife Tara, daughter Jennifer E. Emery and husband Matthew,  Evan White and Tiffany Strickler, his sister Alice Fullerton and husband Edward Fullerton and his Grandchildren Annabelle, Collins and Samuel White, Logan and Graham Emery.

Memorials may be given to Wounded Warriors Foundation, Disability Resources of Abilene. The family of   Robert White wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses, doctors, caregivers and the Veteran Administration for all their support and care.
