Robert Charles Terry (RT), 78, of Abilene, passed away on November 7, 2023.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 12, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 13, 2023, at Wylie Baptist Church with the Pastor Mike Harkrider officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Services will be streamed live via Facebook page for Wylie Baptist Church.
Robert Terry was born in Atlanta, GA to Frank C. Terry and Eleanor Still Terry on September 20, 1945. He joined the United States Air Force at 17 and while stationed at Dyess AFB, met his wife of 57 years, Linda Horton Terry. As a veteran, Robert Terry served one term in Vietnam. He worked as a Route and Sales Manager for Cintas Uniform Company for 42 years. He was involved in his church, Wylie Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and enjoyed serving his community in organizations such as Red Coats for Abilene Chamber of Commerce, and Meals on Wheels. He recently received recognition as a deacon Emeritus for his years of service to his church.
Robert Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Eleanor Still Terry and Frank C. Terry, and his brother, John David Terry.
Robert Terry is survived by wife, Linda Horton Terry; daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Richard Ingraham; daughter, Pamela Baker-King, and son and daughter-in-law, Robert Jr. and Tasha Terry. He has three sisters: Harriett Kennedy, Pansy Heager, and Kaydee Cunningham Terry, and one brother, Mark Allen Terry. His is survived by 10 grandchildren: Devanie and Kasey Cantrell; Kyle Gipson, Kristen Gipson, Recie and Ryan Fister, Payton Ingraham, Ashlynn Terry, Bailey Terry, and Jordynn Terry as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Kolton Cantrell, Kohen Gipson and Baker Cantrell.
Interment for Robert Terry will be at a later date.
Memorials may be given to Kinder Hearts Hospice Care or Wylie Baptist Church building fund.
