Robert (Bobby) Dean Burt, 59, joined his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in Abilene. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 pm Sunday, March 29 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 11am Monday, March 30, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 W. Lake Road. Robert was born in Springhill, Louisiana, to Dennis Wayne Burt, Sr., and June (Clark) Burt, on Feb. 14, 1956. He attended Abilene schools. He worked as truck driver for, JB Hunt, and Fehr Foods. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Air Force. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Wayne Burt, Sr. Robert is survived by his son Josh; mother, June Burt; sisters, Linda Lane, and Shirley King; and brother Dennis Burt, as well as a niece, nephews, cousins, and extended family. His life was full of many friends, special friends Mark and Becky. He loved to give his testimony of his love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, everywhere he went. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675, or woundedwarriorproject.org/donation.
