Robert Lara Alvarez

Robert Lara Alvarez, 66, of Abilene, passed away Monday, August 31, 2015. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. Rev. Richard Crosby will officiate. Robert was born on June 10, 1949 to Domingo and Socorro Alvarez in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The family moved to Mexico where Robert went to school and to Business College. He married Ola Dale on August 15, 1975. Robert was preceded in death by his father, Domingo Alvarez. He is survived by his mother, Socorro Alvarez of Houston; his wife, Ola Alvarez of Abilene; two sons, Robert L. Alvarez, II and wife Stacie and Nicolas Robert Alvarez and Alyssa, all of Abilene; two daughters, Dena Alexander and husband Billy of Houston, and Jennie Alvarez of Abilene; one brother, Hector Alvarez and wife Fran of Dallas; one sister, Mary Cappleman and husband Brian of Houston; eight grandchildren, Alex, Isaiah, Jacob, Dominic, Summer, Autumn, Luke and Ezekiel. Pallbearers will be: Robert L. Alvarez, II, Nicolas Alvarez, Isaiah Alvarez, Eddie Pruneda and Paul Alvarez and Jacob.
