Rickie Daniel Hargrave

Rick Hargrave, 63, a warrior for the Kingdom of Heaven, continued into God’s presence, meeting Him face to face on November 24th, 2022. A great man of unshakeable faith, he beamed Jesus through his last hours of life.

Rick was born November 22, 1959, in Lubbock, TX, to Jackie and Erma Hargrave. At the young age of six, Rick felt the call from God to preach the gospel of the Kingdom, which is salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. He realized his life was not his own, but would be spent preaching eternity and radiating the love of God. This was his driving passion all the days of his life. Rick pastored his first church at the age of 26 in New Iberia, LA. Thereafter he would continue to change and transform the lives of those around him everywhere he went. 

Rick married the love of his life, Sara Knott, September 9, 2017. Although not nearly long enough, they shared the greatest love story of his life. As a family man, he was known as a protector, provider, and priest of the home. Always armed with a plethora of “dad jokes,” the love for his children and family were unquestionable. Rick loved the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and enjoying God’s beautiful creation were some of his favorite pastimes. With an inexhaustible work ethic, Rick never gave up, no matter how challenging the task at hand. He can now see the ripple effect of the lives he’s so deeply touched throughout the years. 

Those left here to celebrate his life are his father, Jackie Hargrave of Ruidoso Downs, NM; his wife Sara Hargrave of Tuscola, TX; his children, Rickie and Sarah Hargrave of Bristol, TN, and Shaunna Hargrave of Kyle, TX; his siblings, JD Hargrave of Wyoming, Eddie Hargrave of Lubbock, TX, and Jeane’tte and Shawn Garrett of Ruidoso Downs, NM; along with his five grandchildren who cherished their “Poppa”.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Erma Hargrave, and his son Aaron Hargrave.

Those who loved him will be celebrating Rick’s life at 2:00pm Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, at New Hope Church, 3122 S. Clack St., Abilene, TX, with Pastor Chuck Farina officiating the ceremony. Family and friends will gather for visitation Monday evening, November 28th, 2022, from 6-8pm at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd, Abilene, TX.
