Richard Timothy Pruitt, 59, of the Abilene State Supported Living Center was lovingly lifted to Heaven and reunited with his Mom and Dad on February 18, 2018.
Tim and his twin brother, Mark, were born to Ray and Wanda Pruitt in Brownwood, Texas on March 1, 1958. Although Tim was born with cerebral palsy, his smile and vibrant personality made him special to everyone. He had a unique way of communicating and influencing people, even though he could not speak.
Our family’s faith and direction in life was largely inspired by Tim’s tenacity and love of life. We always knew that the Lord had a special place in His heart for Tim. Tim enjoyed the love and friendship of everyone on the Abilene State Supported Living Center campus. He looked forward to trips to Glenda’s Second Edition to buy books. He was the spark of family traditions and a blessing to us all. Tim continues to inspire us each day of our lives. We’ll fondly remember him carrying his hats and books.
Tim was preceded in death by his Mom and Dad, Nathan Ray and Wanda Jean Norris Pruitt.
Tim is survived by his twin brother, Mark (Sherry) Pruitt of Sugar Land and their children Megan (Garrett) Winder of Dallas and Timothy Pruitt of Austin; brother, Nick (Julie) Pruitt of Abilene and their children Jeb (Stacie) Pruitt of Odessa; Jacob (Leah) Pruitt of Abilene; Holly (Brandon) Brown of Abilene; sister, Karen Glenn of Eastland and her children Justin Glenn (Jessica Wright) of Austin; Tory (Whitney) Glenn of Lubbock. He is survived by great nieces and great nephews: Jaycee and Blake Pruitt; Sydney, Sayler and Charley Pruitt; Reese and Skyler Brown; Ashton, Dillon, Madi, Tryston, River Glenn and Allyson and Jake Wright. He is also survived by Aunt Fonceale Cole of San Antonio and Uncle Bert Schrank of Hamilton, numerous cousins and many friends whom he dearly loved.
The funeral service will be on Thursday, February 22 at 10:00 am at the Don Cauble Friendship Chapel located at the Abilene State Supported Living Center. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Texas at 2:00 pm. Services will be officiated by Bill Spencer and David Wallace under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Abilene State Supported Living Center, 2501 Maple Street, Abilene, Texas 79602 and Hendrick Hospice Care, 1651 Pine Street, Abilene, Texas 79601.
