Richard Lester

Richard Lester, 60, of Abilene, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at his home. Richard was born on May 19, 1952 in Abilene, Texas to Bill and LaJoy (Fennell) Lester. He graduated from Abilene High School and Texas Tech University. Richard married Darlene Burrus on November 30, 1979 in Abilene. He is survived by his mother, LaJoy of Abilene; his wife, Darlene Lester of Abilene; one son, Richard McCallum of Arlington; one daughter, Jennifer Lester of Cairo, Egypt; two brothers, Don Lester of Clyde and Terry Lester of Waco; three grandchildren, J'Lin McCallum, Hunter McCallum and Joey Lester; and one great-granddaughter, Alaina McCallum. Memorials may be made in Richard's honor to the National Kidney Foundation, 5429 LBJ Freeway, Suite # 250, Dallas, TX 75240. No services will be held at this time. Cremation arrangements were by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
