Richard Dean Fenton, Sr., 67, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2016 in Abilene.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 2, 2016, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, with Sam Kirkman of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses officiating.
Richard was born in Greenville, Texas to Edward Maurice Fenton and Ellen Fenton on June 17, 1949. He went to school in Mesquite, Texas, graduating from Mesquite High in 1967. He married Linda Nell Casey on March 29, 1975 in Merkel, Texas. He worked as a sales representative for Pepsi for 15 years. Richard was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was awarded an Expert Rifleman Medal. He was involved in bowling leagues and several different fishing clubs, and received several awards in both.
Richard was preceded in death by his father Edward Fenton, mother Ellen Fenton, and sister Janice Stover.
Richard is survived by wife Linda Fenton, Steven Wright, Mark Wright, Tasha Wright, Richard Fenton, Jr. and Shawn Fenton, brother Mike Fenton, sister Jane Armstrong, brother David Fenton and 18 grandchildren.
