Rhonda June Doan

Rhonda Doan, 66, of Ovalo, Texas, passed away on July 15, 2018 in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 17th, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 18th, at Lawn Baptist Church, Lawn, Texas with Mark Moore and Diane Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Memorial Park, Abilene.

Rhonda was born in Abilene, Texas to Cecil and Laura Middleton on March 28, 1952.  She graduated from Abilene High School in 1970.  She married Randy Doan on November 28, 1970 in Abilene.  She was a homemaker and was very involved with her family, community, and church.  Rhonda enjoyed working with children and youth in the church, sponsoring camps, working with GA's, Kid's Time, and Vacation Bible School.  Attending all of the children's and grandchildren's events and activities was very important to her.  She loved baking and spoiling family with her famous chocolate chip cookies.  She treasured family vacations and having family together for all special occasions. 

Rhonda found joy in all animals.  She loved hummingbirds, deer, and wildlife.  She loved all of her dogs and feeding her donkeys.  She looked forward to driving around the country, near home and Ruidoso, counting the deer and other animals, especially hoping to see bears and elk. 

People saw God in Rhonda through her smiles and love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Laura Middleton.  Rhonda is survived by her husband Randy Doan of Ovalo, her children, Rachelle Grun and husband Otis of Tuscola, Ryan Doan and wife Melony of Abilene, siblings, Roxanne Rose, Russell Middleton, and Rhene Davidson, grandchildren, Lauren Hutcherson, Callie Hutcherson, Dakota Harriman, Kaylee Grun, Jaxon Doan, and Jett Doan, and one great-grandchild, V Baker. 

Pallbearers will be Justin Rose, David Davidson, Deris Hutcherson, Rick Walker, Danny Rothe, and Dennis Pape. 

The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to our church family, personal and work friends, and the entire medical team that took such good care of Rhonda these past few months.
