Raymond William Tice, Jr., 76, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at an Abilene medical center.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 24, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene with Pastor Michael Reed and friend, Wayne Palmer, officiating, under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
The son of Raymond William Tice, Sr. and Vivian Willhemania Tice, he was born on August 24, 1933 in Seattle, Washington, and graduated from high school in South Bend, Washington.
After graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Korea. Raymond then enlisted in the U. S. Air Force, a career which spanned 22 years and during which he served in Vietnam. After his retirement from the military, Mr. Tice worked for 22 years at Walls Industries in Merkel, Texas.
Raymond married Patricia Erlinda Asencio
He had been a resident of Abilene since 1973. Mr. Tice was a member of Elmcrest Baptist Church in Abilene. He loved gardening and remodeling.
Raymond was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Tice; his parents; one sister and one grandson.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Tice of Abilene; two sons, Charles Tice of Abilene and Ronald Tice and wife, Patricia, of Centralle, Washington; and four grandchildren.
Raymond was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was loved by all who met him.
