On 27 September, 1998 Raquel Andrea Zipprich was born in the Republic of Panama to Tom and Irma Zipprich. As her father was moved by the Air Force, she moved as well going from one location to another until finally ending up in Abilene, Texas. Going into her Junior year at Wylie High School, she was a veteran member of the Wylie Belles, played piano and aspired to be an Anesthesiologist while learning Russian. She loved to compose her own music and was a tremendous freehand sketch artist who had a fascination with the eyes and lips. Purple and black surrounded her and wolves roamed freely in her dreams.
Raquel passed away on the evening of 17 August, 2015 in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service celebrating 16 beautiful years of life will be held on Friday 21 August at 3pm at New Beginnings Church at 5535 Buffalo Gap Road. We invite anyone who truly wishes to honor Raquel’s memory to join us. Pastor Jonathan Neely will be officiating the service. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
She is survived by her family in Panama - grandparents, Miguel and Dalys, uncles Carmelo and Miguel Lopez Jr, cousins Vittoria, Miguel Eduardo, Jenifer, Sofia and Angelina. Here in the United States she is survived by her Grandfather Vern, her parents Irma and Tom, two brothers Gabriel and Daniel, uncles David, Greg and Gary, Aunts Marie, Linda and Shirley, and cousins Amanda, David, Heather, Erich, Kayla, Rebecca, Jeannie May and Laree Rose.
Please feel free to send flowers through The Hamil Family Funeral Home (she loved purple, not so much pink), or donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
We want to say “Thank You” to the hundreds of people who have helped the family and friends through this incredibly painful time including the Abilene first responders and the Abilene Regional South emergency physician team. A special thanks to Officers Thompson and Josh New of the APD and the church family at New Beginnings.
