Randy D. Meador

Randy Meador, 57, of Buffalo Gap, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Kerry Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service. Randy was born January 2, 1958 in Jacksboro, Texas to Lester and Dorthy (Puckett) Meador. He graduated from Cooper High School in 1976. While at Cooper he was a member of the swim team. He began dating Cindy Jo Riggs in 1999 and they were married in Tuscola in 2005. He was a longtime construction worker, an excellent cabinet maker and especially enjoyed building staircases. If you showed Randy a picture of something—he could build it. He was also an avid hunter; from deer to turtles and even snakes. Randy is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Jo Meador of Buffalo Gap; his mother, Dorthy Meador of Abilene; one son, Jeremy Dale Meador of Denton; step-daughter, Shawna Dennis of Cisco; step-son, Allie Joseph Strickland of Abilene; one brother, Dale Meador of Abilene; one sister, Brenda Lanham of Moran; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren. Randy lived a long and fulfilled life and will be greatly missed.
