Randy Fitzhugh

Randy Fitzhugh, 55, of Abilene, died Monday May 18, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 525 Beech Street. Rev. Steve Chappell and Rev. Greg Kennedy will officiate. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on March 15, 1954, Randy was the son of Cletus Grady Fitzhugh and Dorothy Standlee Fitzhugh. He graduated from Andrews High School. In 1973, Randy moved to Abilene from Andrews, Texas. He graduated from McMurry University. He was a Certified Public Account and was working as the Chief Financial Officer for Pied Piper Pet and Wildlife Company in Hamlin at the time of his death. Randy married Shari Sollivan on January 1, 2004 in Abilene. He served on the board at Harmony Family Services and Abilene Adult Daycare. He was also a member of the Abilene Philharmonic Association and the Abilene Rotary Club. Randy served on the finance committee at St. Paul United Methodist Church, where he was a member. He was preceded in death by his father. Randy is survived by his mother, Dorothy Fitzhugh, of Vernon; his wife Shari Sollivan Fitzhugh, of Abilene; one daughter, Emily Meredith Fitzhugh and one step-daughter, Kathleen Pearl Hansen, both of Abilene. He is also survived by his brother, Greg Fitzhugh and his uncle, Joseph Standlee, both of Vernon; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jolene and Richard Sollivan, of Abilene; one aunt, Betty Fowler and her husband Clois, of Abilene; and one cousin, Susan Wray and her husband Dr. James Wray, also of Abilene. Memorials may be made in Randy's honor to Harmony Family Services, 305 Grape Street, Abilene, Texas 79601; Sears Methodist Center, 3202 South Willis, Abilene, Texas 79605; or to the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra Association, 402 Cypress Street Abilene, Texas 79601.
