Randolph B. Scarborough, 92, passed Monday, December 24, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.
The son of Ollie (Paul) and Basil “Baze” Ray Scarborough, Randolph was born on October 4, 1926 in Jena, Louisiana, and lived in Abilene most all of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Randolph married Lessie Clements in Abilene in 1945. He was a service technician, having worked for the City of Abilene Water Department for 44 years. He was an active member of the American Legion - Parramore Post 57.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lessie Scarborough; his parents, Basil & Ollie Scarborough; multiple siblings, daughter-in-law, Pat Scarborough; Glenda Scarborough; one granddaughter Amber Marie Keen and one great-granddaughter Jorey Nicole Beasley.
Survivors include one son, Randy W. Scarborough of Abilene; daughter, Sharon Doster and husband Thomas of Abilene; AC Scarborough, Mamie Fowler-Corder and six grandchildren, Russell Scarborough and wife Jodi, Pam Scarborough Beasley, Amy Outlaw and husband James, Brandy Tims-Silvas and husband Joe Silvas; Terry Joshua Keen; Hailey R. Doster and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren, Chance Beasley, Kristy Beasley Garcia, Garrett, Bailey, Kati Scarborough, and Jami Ward, Jordan, Ricky, Jamie, Lilly and Gabriel Outlaw, Aaron Tapia, and Daxlynn, Meghan, Tryna and Alley Silvas; and nine great-great-grandchildren, Rex, William, Aaron Jr. (AJ), Matthew, Eziriah, Brantley, Mealinn, Lurrelly and Jeffrey.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 30, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Larry Baird. Burial will follow in Potosi Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Wheeler, Russell Scarborough, Chance Beasley, Aaron Tapia, Ricky Outlaw and Garrett Scarborough.
Family expresses special thanks and appreciation for his caregiver and friend, Antonia Silvas, for all of your kindness, dedication and love throughout the years.
