Ralph "Eddie" Krieger

Local pharmacist, friend and family man Ralph (Eddie) Krieger, 77, passed away on April 7, 2021 in Abilene, Texas.

Family graveside will be held at Dewey Cemetery with Jason Krieger officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.

Eddie was born April 23, 1943 to Ralph and Jeane Robinson Krieger. Graduating from Abilene High School in 1961, Eddie then entered the service with the National Guard. In 1966, Eddie married Rita Lyons. Eddie graduated from the University of Texas Pharmacy School in 1967. After graduation, Eddie and Rita returned to Abilene to join his family in the pharmacy business. Eddie owned and operated Eddie Krieger Pharmacy in River Oaks Village for over 30 years.

Eddie is survived by his wife, Rita; son, Chuck Krieger of Dallas; daughter, Trisha and Eric Chase of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Addison and Parker Chase of New Braunfels; sister, Betty Anne Graham of Abilene; brother, Ted and Kathy Krieger of Abilene; nieces and nephews, Kyle and Stacy Doby and children; Russell and Jeanie Graham, and son; Ashleigh and Jason Marshall and children; Jason and Mallory Krieger and children; Ashleigh and Kerry Goff and children.

Eddie is remembered as a kind, calm, and artistic son, brother, husband, Dad and friend. His witty sense of humor was only to be overshadowed by his helping and giving nature. Eddie had many hobbies. He was well known for his passion as an excellent potter, his proficiency as a fly fisherman, and his talent as a photographer. Eddie was an avid reader and enjoyed collecting first edition books. He loved his family and friends and had an incredible love for his dog, Ellie.

Eddie made a great impact on the lives of his friends and family. He led by example, committed himself to the service of others, and garnered the trust of local citizens for years through his service as a Pharmacist.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Eddie’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

We will remember and honor Eddie Krieger on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 3-5 pm at the Supper Club by Perini’s, 2701 FM 89, Buffalo Gap, TX 79508.
