Phil McCauley, 74, of Abilene, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 in Abilene.
Memorial services with full military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Nichols, officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
Phil was born on February 2, 1944 in Brownwood, Texas to the late Clyde and Mary (Lee) McCauley. He and Carolyn Wine were married on December 26, 1985 in Denver, Colorado. Phil retired from the US Air Force after 20 years of service. He was an avid stamp collector and was the co-founder of the Golden Tongs of Texas. Phil and Carolyn moved to Abilene in 2005 from Arizona.
Phil is survived by his wife Carolyn of Abilene; four sons, Phil McCauley, Jr. and John McCauley both of Tucson, Arizona, James Reading of Tucson and Jason Reading of Littleton, Colorado; two daughters, Teresa McCauley-Lovington of Stansbury Park, Utah and Rebekah Reading-Nixon of Eaton, Indiana; one brother, John McCauley of Granbury, Texas; and one sister, Myrna McCauley Baker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
