Phillip Lynn Cochran, 69, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at his residence.
Phillip was born in Odessa, Texas to Beryl and Jackie (Anderson) Cochran on March 13, 1952. He graduated from Cooper High School and attended Abilene Christian University. He married Joyce Brown in Abilene in 1974. Phillip enjoyed a career in Law Enforcement, working for the Abilene Police Department, then advancing to work for the US Marshal’s Service as a Deputy US Marshal. After retiring from the US Marshal Service he worked security at Hendrick Medical Center. He was a member of Broadview Baptist Church.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Beryl and Jackie Cochran, his son, Phil Cochran, a brother, Sam Cochran, and a brother-in-law Jack Smith.
Phillip is survived by his wife, Joyce Cochran of Abilene; daughter, Brandi Hines and husband Chad and their children, Aaron and Katie, all of Abilene; daughter-in-law, Courtney Cochran Clark and husband Randy, children, Carson, Callie and Corley Kate Cochran and Brant and Brenlyn Clark all of Cisco; sister, Carmen Smith of Rowena; brothers, Danny Cochran of Georgia and Donny Cochran of Indiana.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 3, 2022 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 4, 2022 at Broadview Baptist Church, 2500 S. 27th Street, with Rev. David Cason officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
