Peggy McConnell, 72, of Abilene, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, February 13, 2015 at Wylie Christian Church 6250 Buffalo Gap Rd. Abilene, Texas 79606, officiated by Reverend Shawn Grisham and Reverend Doug Roysden. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 W. Lake Rd, Abilene, Texas 79601, directed by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, Abilene. She was born Peggy McFall on October 5, 1942 in Pittsburg, Texas, the daughter of Rex and Inez McFall. She grew up in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Abilene High School. On May 5, 1960 she married the love of her life John McConnell in Abilene, Texas. She worked for Dr. Russell Dressen for 30 years. She was very involved in the Rotary Youth Exchange program for many years and touched many lives through this program throughout the world. She enjoyed life and especially her family who she cherished with all her heart. She is survived by her husband, John McConnell of Abilene; daughter, Kim Everett of Abilene; daughter, Nikki Grisham and husband Shawn of Abilene; one son of Keller, Chad McConnell and wife Missy; brother of Tye, David McFall and wife Lisa; and brother, Phil McFall of Ft. Stockton, Texas. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Justin Grisham and wife Ashley, Lexi Winkelspecht and wife Justine, Siera Bennett and husband Cameron, Mikah Grisham, Sydney McConnell, Maddie and Haylee; and 3 great-grandchildren: Jace Grisham, Ashtin Grisham, and Caydeyn Bennett. Her parents, Rex and Inez McFall, as well as a brother, Rex McFall, preceded her in death.
