Peggy M. Green, age 90, of Abilene, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2024, in Abilene.
Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2024, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, November 15, 2024, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, with Pastor David Cason officiating. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Peggy was born on April 5, 1934, in Nocona, Texas, to the late Paul and Adele Molsbee. She grew up in a poor but loving family. She had three sisters: Kathryn, Paula, and Ginger. Peggy graduated from Nocona High School. She and William W. "Bill" Green married on June 28, 1952, in Bowie, Texas.
Peggy was a housewife and mother from 1952 to 1967. She was an excellent cook, bridge player, poker player, and seamstress. In 1967 Peggy became employed at the United States Postal Service, where she worked until she retired in 1997. She was a model employee. Peggy and Bill visited almost every state, including Alaska and Hawaii, and many places in Canada and Mexico. They loved each other very much and were together 68 years, until he passed away in 2020 at age 92.
Peggy is survived by four children, Jennifer E. Green of Little Rock, Arkansas, Susan G. Taylor of Austin, Texas, William P. Green of Abilene, and Jack W. Green of Austin; one brother-in-law, Richard Green of Bowie; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Peggy was a good and decent woman who loved her husband and children and always did her best to take care of them.
