Pedro Flores

Pedro Jose Flores, 76, of Abilene, TX, passed away on 3-26-25 in Abilene.

Visitation will be held 4pm-6pm, Tuesday 4-01-25, at Hamil Family Funeral Home. 

The Graveside service will be held 11am, Wednesday 4-02-25, at Buffalo Gap Cemetery, 3226 FM 89, Buffalo Gap, TX 79508 with David Cason, officiating. Services are under the direction of the The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Rd.

Pedro was born in Eldorado, TX on February 2, 1949, to parents Jose Flores and Elida Hill Flores.

Pedro was admitted to Abilene SSLC in June 1976, where he continued to live until his community placement in March 2009. He loved his home, sharing it with three roommates over the years, until his most recent admission to Hendrick Hospice care.

Pedro was a man who liked to dress-up, wear caps and hats, look good and smile. He loved attention, especially from the ladies. He enjoyed watching Spanish programs on TV, however country music would get his tears flowing. Staff working with him would change the music to get him smiling again. If you asked him for a hug, he would hug you and a smile. Occasionally he would want staff to leave him alone by saying "Get Go".

Pedro was cared for over the years at Abilene State Supported Living Center, Draco Services and Hill Resources. He made many friends, he enjoyed being out and around town, participating in community activities, visiting the parks and the zoo. He was always ready to ride, with a big smile on his face.
