Pauline Hill, of Abilene and, formerly, Grand Prairie, Texas, died on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the age of 81.
She was born September 19, 1932 in Burns City, Texas in Cooke County to Hilda and Otis Cason. She attended Cooke County schools, graduating from Collinsville High School in 1950. In 1953, she concluded her education at the University of North Texas where she earned a Bachelors and Masters degree in education and began investing in Dallas-area real estate and teaching for the Grand Prairie public schools where she taught 1st grade for 42 years.
On October 29, 1961, she married Charles F. Hill at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Grand Prairie, Texas. They had one son, John Hill, of Abilene, Texas. Polly was a devoted mother, treasured mother-in-law and beloved grandmother and will be remembered by her family and friends for her insight, practicality and succinct and ready wit.
She is survived by her son, John Hill, daughter-in-law, Molly Hill, and granddaughters Jane and Ruth. She is predeceased by her parents Hilda and Otis Cason, brother D. B. Cason, first husband Albert W. Dart and second husband Charles F. Hill.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Episcopal Church of the Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander Street in Abilene, Texas with inurnment to follow in the church’s columbarium. Services are under the direction of The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts be made to an organization of the donor’s choice.
