Pauline Carmichael, 87, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 29, 2006 in the Jayton Cemetery in Kent County. Pauline was born on November 9, 1918 in Mesa, Arizona to Jess Hall and Ellie (Bingham) Hall. She grew up in Jayton, Texas and lived in Lubbock most of her adult life. December 31, 1955, Pauline married Leonard Carmichael in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was a Human Resource Director for Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, Texas for thirty years, before retiring in 1982. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Lubbock. Pauline and Leonard moved to Abilene 3 ½ years ago from Dallas. Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Floyd Hall and one sister, Joni Bell Moore. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Carmichael of Abilene; one son, Michael Carmichael of Plano, Texas; one daughter, Judy Thomas of Fort Davis, Texas; one sister, Pat Clayton of Abilene; three grandchildren, Ellen Armstrong and her husband Joseph, Jill Thomas and Louis Thomas, and several nieces and nephews. Remembrances may be made in honor of Pauline to Hospice of the Big Country, 4601 Hartford, Abilene, Texas 79605 or the First Methodist Church of Jayton, Jayton, Texas 79528.
