Patti Ann McCorkle, 63, of Abilene, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Ed McCorkle and Scotty McCorkle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Gap Cemetery. The family welcomes friends and guests from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, January 12th at the funeral home for visitation with the family.
Patti was born November 10, 1954 in Knox City, Texas to Edward Keele Acree and Elizbeth Mac (West) Acree. She married Scotty Wayne McCorkle on July 3, 1975 in Rochester, Texas. Patti worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Bronte ISD and Bassetti Elementary. She was a member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. Patti was also known as Momma Patti to many, and most recently, Packie by her 7 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Phillip Acree.
Patti is survived by her husband, Scotty McCorkle of Abilene; one son, Ryan McCorkle and wife Stephanie of Sweetwater; two daughters, Jennifer Weinkauf and husband Kevin of Abilene and Kimberly Ewing and husband Clay of Tuscola; one brother, Robert “Bob” Acree and wife Ruthie of Knox City; and seven grandchildren: Hunter McCorkle, Austin Ewing, Bradley Hallford, Rebecca Hallford, Tate Hallford, Sydney Weinkauf, and Kaison McCorkle.
Pallbearers will be: Kevin Brooks, Russell Brooks, Charlie Roland, Jr., Clay Ewing, Kevin Weinkauf and Bobby O’Neal.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society.
