Patsy was born on December 27, 1933, to Elmer and Beatrice (Galloway) Hutto in West Palm Beach, Florida, where she grew up with her parents and sister. During her senior year, her father’s job took them to Sebring, Florida, where Patsy graduated from high school. As an indication of her ability to connect with others and be an encourager, she was voted friendliest in her senior class. After graduation, they returned to West Palm Beach where she went to secretarial school and began working in a bank. Having a desire to broaden her service to others, in 1954, she moved to Fort Worth, Texas, and earned an Associate’s Degree in Church Administration from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. While at Southwestern, she met and married the love of her life, Francis Wilson. During their 65 year marriage, their family grew to include three children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Pat spent her life in service to others. As a homemaker, caring for her husband and raising their three children. As a helpmate, ministering with her husband as a pastor’s wife while serving churches in Texas and New Mexico for 58 years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and Children’s Choir as well as singing in the Adult Choir. She participated in the mission organizations in the church as well. She helped inspire young girls and women while promoting missions locally and globally. Throughout Pat’s life, she continued to connect with people and make everyone feel special. Her smile was welcoming to others as she always drew people in with her gentle spirit, and never met a stranger.
Pat’s hobbies include sewing, cooking, gardening and travel. In addition to visiting their children and grandchildren across the country, she and Francis traveled extensively in the Middle East, England and Alaska. Pat loved writing long letters, reading and studying the Bible.
