Patsy Ruth Parker, 79, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, in Abilene, Texas. She was born August 14, 1935, in Lampasas County, Texas, to Culver and Lea Carpenter. Patsy lived most of her life in Paducah, Texas, and moved to Abilene upon her marriage to John Daily Parker.
For many years Patsy taught pre-school children in Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Paducah, and loved every minute of it. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends.
Patsy was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Liedtke; her parents; and two brothers, Miles Carpenter and C. J. Carpenter.
Patsy is survived by her husband, John Daily Parker of Abilene; brother, Donnie Carpenter and his wife, Evelyn; two nieces and their husbands, Deborah Carpenter Alvarez and Javier Alvarez, and Angela Carpenter Bates and Larry Richard Bates; great-nephew, Jared Bates; and great-nieces, Amanda Bates, Isabel Alvarez, Marissa Alvarez, and Evelyn Alvarez. Survivors also include her brother-in-law, Douglas M. Parker; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Elizabeth Parker and Don Brown, and Lavelle Parker Killough and Donny Killough; nephew, Brandon G. Killough; niece, Brooke Killough Miller and husband McCade Miller; and great-nieces, McCaylee Miller and Maizee Miller.
A graveside service and interment of cremains will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 17, 2015 in the Garden of Memories in Paducah, Texas. Arrangements are being made by The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene.
