Patrick Ellison White, Jr., of Abilene, passed away on October 30, 2009, in Abilene, Texas.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 2, 2009, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the Southern Hills Church of Christ with John Risse of the North Boulevard Church of Christ in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, at Brown Cemetery in Aledo, Texas. Arrangements are by The Hamil Family Funeral Home.
Patrick was born in Aurora, Illinois, to Patrick and Eva White on August 17, 1952. He graduated from Central High School in San Angelo, Texas. He married Gwen on December 26, 1988, in Abilene, Texas. He graduated from Abilene Christian University with a BSEd in 1977 and a MEd in 1980. He was in his 25th year with Abilene Independent School District and currently worked at Fannin Elementary and Mann Middle School as a speech therapist. He had worked at several AISD campuses over the years. He also worked at Abilene State School early in his career. He served in the Air Force from 1971-1974. He was a ministry leader at the Southern Hills Church of Christ and had sung with the Praise Team.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Dockery White and his mother, Eva Louise White.
He is survived by his wife Gwen White of Abilene, son, Scott White of Abilene, daughter, Laura White of Clyde, sister and brother-in-law Cathy and Pat Nuytten of San Angelo, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Steve and LaDonna Martin of North Richland Hills, father Patrick White, Sr. and wife, Sandy of San Angelo, granddaughters Ashlynn White of Abilene, Coraleigh and Joshlin Sapp of Clyde, nephews Luc Nuytten of Knoxville, TN., and Eric Martin of North Richland Hills, niece Crystal Barnhill of Haslet, TX, mother-in-law and father-in-law Betty and Robert Lawrence of Fort Worth.
